Starting at the beginning of the month, on Sunday night June 7th at 7 PM, we have a great night of entertainment scheduled with the Forever Tonight tribute to Lee and Joy Shulman. Comedians, singers and magicians are part of this one of a kind variety show at the Canyon Theatre Guild, hosted by our own cantor Kenny Ellis.
On June 14th Temple Beth Ami will be making a visit to California Science Center to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. The Scrolls will be in Los Angeles through September but if you’d like to be part of our tour please contact the temple office ASAP. We will carpool and caravan to the Museum for a screening of the IMAX movie Jerusalem at 12:30 PM followed by a tour of the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition at 1:30 PM. A visit to the Space Shuttle Endeavour is included with entrance. The cost for adults is $20.75 and college students and younger is $15. RSVP to Temple Beth Ami at 661-255-6410.
On June 19th we’ll be having our first summer Shabbat in the park at Valencia Meadows, 25671 Fedala Rd., Valencia. Bring a dinner to enjoy starting at 6 PM. Services will start at approximately 7 PM. If you can’t make that service we will be having another Shabbat in the park on September 4 as summer comes to a close. But don’t rush us, before that comes our tradition of Beach Havdalah on 8/22 at Marina Park in Ventura.
While about 25 TBA members will be visiting Europe for 15 days as part of our first heritage journey outside of Israel, services for Shabbat continue on a normal schedule. If you were not able to join us on this trip have no fear there will be another trip to Central and Eastern Europe in years ahead and we look forward to adding a trip to Spain to discover our Sephardic heritage first hand. We also plan on having two trips to Israel between now and the end of 2017. One of those trips will be an interfaith trip with some of our local pastors from Santa Clarita.
Wherever your travels take you this summer we wish you blessings of safety and enjoyment. A special congratulations to all of our high school and college graduates. May you be blessed on your next journey as well.
